Default Tyler Bunz OR Scott Wedgewood

Only pick one, who do you think has higher upside.

I am going with Wedgewood, Brody has to be gone soon and they dont have much in front of him Clermont and Frazee who are not NHL caliber goalies. Bunz will be a solid goalie IMO but has Dubnyk and Roy ahead of him so he will be in the wings for years...

I would take Tyler Bunz over Scott Wedgewood. The signing of Keith Kincaid is a significant roadblock in the way of Scott Wedgewood and I also have a feeling that New Jersey will replace Brodeur, by way of trade or signing if Brodeur retires after either of the next 2 seasons. I also think Bunz has a higher upside than Wedgewood and ultimately will pass Roy on Edmonton's depth chart. When in clutch situations Roy hasn't shown the ability to handle the pressure, first in the WJC and then the lose of his starting position in last year's QMJHL playoffs with a 6.88 GAA and 0.739 SV%. We'll see what Roy can do in the AHL this season, but ultimately, I think people will be talking about Bunz more by the start of 2012 season. Medicine Hat's bouncing of Red Deer and the won goalie duel of Bunz over Kuemper in the WHL playoffs impressed me. Ultimately, Wedgewood and Bunz are both 4 years away from any NHL time, but when it comes Bunz will be seen as the better goalie.
