Hey,
Looking for some help in my ongoing prospect draft...Multi-cat league. Full keeper. Skater stats: G, A, +/-, PIMS, Hits, BS, SOG, PPP, SHP. Im looking at drafting another D-man this round. Hopefully someone who will have good multi-cat potential..wondering who will have the more immediate impact? Does Schultz have enough offensive upside to outweigh the multi-cat potential of Cowen or Siemens? Other d-men on the board include Joe Morrow, Faulk, Barrie, Tinordi, Josi, Nathan Beaulieu. Cheers

Cowen will have the most immediate impact as he should make the Sens out of camp. His offensive upside isn't great but he will be a great category filler for hits, blocks and Pims. Schultz and Faulk have more offensive upside but are further away. Siemens is similar to Cowen but further away with better upside. Tinordi will be purely defense. Beaulieu is a ways away with decent offensive abilities. Morrow won't impact anytime soon in Pitt with Letang at the helm. Not sure what Barrie will be capable of in Colorado with all the D gems they have. Josi could make Nashville this year but he is battling Ellis. They have so many D studs it's hard seeing him impacting in the NHL in Nashville.

Cowen hands down, he will be playing big time minutes this year in Ottawa I think...he has some offensive potential but I would not expect it to come out for a good two to three years but Cowen will fill the stat sheet with hits, PIMS an BS and should not hurt u in the +/- either.

Cowen would be my choice from that list. He does have some offensive potential...he'll never hit 50 or anything, but 35-40 is a possibility at some point. Schultz has a much higher point ceiling, but I think Cowen's all-around game will make him more valuable. Plus like other posters have mentioned, he should be in the NHL this season, next at the latest.
