I initially offered Burns Marleau and Bryz for Malkin straight up. The other GM asked for an additional mid to high 1st round pick. I offered back with an additional late 1st(13th overall) round pick. And asked him for a throw in (a late pick or aging vet).

What do you guys think about this deal? Am I giving up too much? or is this a good deal if I can land it.

Whoa this guy is asking you for a lot!!! I don't think you need to do this deal. You have a very good lineup for a 15 team league. Marleau will leave you crippling on LW IMO...

Considering you've got depth in net out the ass and on D it's almost like Marleau for Malkin which altough i've never been as high as most on the guy I think it's any easy move to make right here. Sell on lecavalier for an up and coming LW of the JVR, E.Kane, Benn, Neal variety

I completely agree with you if he makes another move to improve his LW, I have no problem with this deal. But if right now, this move leaves him very weak at LW

to clarify i would probably put Malkin as a RW... and possibly move a couple of the RW that have dual eligibility to LW.

...with that as your settings

all this extra depth you have needs to get unloaded Bryzgalov is of little consequence when you have Price and Fleury and only start 1 goalie every 2 weeks...Doughty, Yandle, Whitney, and Pronger/Zidlicky is more than suitable so Burns is of little significance

RW- St.Louis, Stafford
LW- Kovalchuk

then trade Lecavalier for a solid up and coming LW or even Lecavalier and St.Louis for a high end C and LW and then move Malkin to RW...make the deal regardless but you need to make a follow up move afterward to land a serious LW and rid yourself of Lecavalier and possibly St.Louis as well to get a youth jolt and better overall balance while they both can still fetch a high-end return

take the deal. malkin will be on fire next season and you already have too much goaltending.
