Dobber mentioned that D\'AVERSA has been signed by Pittsburgh and that it might be with the intent of pushing LETANG. D\'AVERSA had very good numbers in the OHL. Could he play in the NHL now? Is D\'AVERSA a comparable player to LETANG? Is this a player that you would draft for your team? Not having seen him play, and based on his numbers, he sounds like a good offensive defenceman that I should definitely consider. Particularly if he could be in the NHL sooner rather than later.

He\'s not even close to Letang - no contest. But the guy can run a power play, especially one that doesn\'t need running like Pittsburgh\'s. With Whitney and Gonchar playing 80 seconds of each two minute PP, it will be Letang\'s job to run the second unit (or D\'aversa\'s).
I think he\'s just there for that little added push. Just to say to Letang - earn this spot, we\'re not going to give it to you. On any other team, I don\'t think D\'Aversa would play in the NHL. If Letang bombs in camp, which I doubt, then D\'Aversa may sneak onto the Pens. D\'Aversa is more mature and Pittsburgh does not play a defensive system, which works to his advantage. I wouldn\'t draft him unless it was the end of training camp and he thoroughly outplayed Letang - a long shot, but feasible.
