Toews should make the \'Hawks right out of training camp next year, but that\'s more an indictment of their lack of depth at C-LW. Based on what I saw from him at the World Jrs, he definitely has some offensive ability - his performance in the shootout against the US was incredible. I just don\'t see him being a monster point producer at the NHL level. Next year he puts up 55 pts max with an upper limit of 80 pts in the future.

I don\'t know if he\'ll sign though. That\'s the issue. If he doesn\'t sign this summer, it\'s college for another year.
I agree 55 points as a rookie, but I say 90-95 pts is the ceiling here down the road.

I like Toews making the hawks out of camp and I can see him having a quick start if Band-aid Havlat is healthy, but I see him wearing down 35 games in and between 40-50 pts for the year..

I think his WCs have answered all questions about making the team. He just thrives with intelligent players because he is one, ala Stastny last year.
He\'s going to be a dangerous, dangerous setup man for Havlat and whatever scrub they throw on his left wing. |

Now that Jonathan as signed his entry level deal with Chicago, he will most probably play in the NHL next year for sure. But how well will he do next year? And how many year until he can reach his upside of 95 points?

I don\'t think that it\'s outlandish to think that Toews will have similar success next season as Kopitar had this season... I can see 60+ points out of him right out of the gate if he\'s playing with havlat for any period of time...
If Chicago gets a UFA center during free agency though, this might be another story...

I agree. 60ish points off the bat, with 90+ coming in 4/5 years. It might be even sooner if they give him the right supporting cast.
