Default Semin for B.Ryan?

One of our league GM's approached me today to discuss possible trades. Our trade deadline is next Tuesday (I think); I'm currently in 4th place, within striking distance of 1st place (we play 4 head-to-head games/week and I'm 4 wins from 1st) while he's currently in 6th (6 wins out of 1st). Suggestion was trading my B.Ryan for his A.Semin or R.Nash. I'm not opposed to trading B.Ryan but I would want a player that's good now and great for years to come (I basically put B.Ryan in this category). Just about every ranking system puts A.Semin higher than B.Ryan (even Dobber does) but would this trade make sense? Can A.Semin come on strong for the remainder of this season and out-pace B.Ryan? Does R.Nash for B.Ryan even make sense?

My team is in my signature below. Thanks for your input.

IMO the injury risk that comes with Semin does not outweigh the upside he brings to your team. And you said it yourself that you don't even know why you would trade Ryan for Nash.
Ryan's an up and comer, and Nash seems to have plateaued.

I would stick with what you have, personally. Could you deal Kessel instead? Something like Nash or Semin for Kessel and Streit?

Anyway, I would be happy sticking with Ryan in this case.

Personally I like Ryan or Nash here. Both seem to be cut from the same cloth. I give the egde to Nash in terms of experience and as the No. 1 guy in Columbus. However Ryan does play along side Getzlaf and Perry which gives him a leg in the supporting cast department.

Semin has huge upside but as already mentioned his risk of injury is a definite concern. Also in a keeper you don't want to forget about the KHL factor.

Good luck with your choice,
Cheers!

I like Ryan and Nash better than Semin because of the injury concerns. Ryan might have more realistic upside than Nash, I think he could hit 80-90 playing on that big line with Getzlaf and Perry.

I would hold on to Ryan as well.
No need to make a move here.

I would hold Ryan

But someone mentioned moving Kessel and that may be a better play based on your roster, but the Buds seem to be turning up the heat, as per usual once they are written off for the season
