What's happening with this guy? The TOI seems to be there at around 20min per game but the SOGs are low and he's on pace for a mere 65pts this season. Is it just a slump or is there more to it?
Thanks for any insight.

Heatley's production goes hand in hand with Thornton's and when Big Joe is slumping then Heatley is slumping too. Both of them have only 4 points each in their last 11 games. Before that slump they were close to being at PPG pace.
It's just a slump. When Thornton gets it going so will Heatley. |

I looked at the line combo feature in the Fantasy Tools section and noticed that in last 3 games, Heatley was lined up with Pavelski and Mitchell 60% of the time at even strength. He hasn't been playing with Thornton much lately, except on the PP. (Thornton has lined up with Marleau and Setoguchi of late)
They seem to be experimenting with new lines in order to create some offense but I have not seen them play lately so I'm just wondering. I'm making a push for 1st and need him to contribute badly!

Heatley is one of those players who finds a way to always end up with great stats at the end of the year, and until that doesn't happen I wouldn't worry. With him, just ignore the game to game and even week to week stats and just keep them in there.
