Seems like there have been many of these similar rankings as of late. Predicting which of these guys will end up the best 3+ years out is virtually impossible, but my personal take is:
Tier 1: Shattenkirk & Pietrangelo These guys are very impressive as rookies, not only from a production standpoint, but from a composure and skill set standpoint as well. They are both poised to be stud offensive Dmen and I would project them at the top of your list. As for which one, flip a coin; I would be thrilled to own either. Tier 2: Kulikov and Ekman-Larsson This is more for 3-3+ years out, but these guys are both blessed with elite level offensive talent. In fact, I think they have just as much (if not more) raw talent than the Tier 1 guys, but their fantasy situation is not as advantageous. But, man, look at what Kulikov is doing with his opportunity now. He could be a 40+ guy next year. Tier 3: Johnson and Hedman It is bizarre to think that the highest drafted players with hype like EJ and Hedman are in my 3rd Tier, but that is where I think they should be if we are looking at offensive production. These guys could end up better than anyone on the list offensively but I just don't see it right now. These guys (with OEL/Pietrangelo) will be the best all-around Dmen on the list, but I don't think they hit the offensive upside of the others.

Thanks Fungchen,
That is exactly what I was looking for. Rep awarded. (if I did it right) I do like Pietrangelo and Hedman is an interesting case. I think Hedman will be a star (But when) but if I can package him for a return for another d and a forward, should I try it? I am looking to be competitive next year and I think his name will carry some big weight.

I also think Hedman will be a star, but will he be a big offensive producer is the question? I am a believer that he will follow a similar path as Chris Pronger and start putting up nice numbers in his 5th year or so.
But, unless I'm missing something in your sig, I don't see that you own Pietrangelo, OEL or EJ? If the D in your sig is all you have, I might think twice about moving Hedman unless you could get someone like Pietrangelo for him. If you could dangle Hedman to get you a package of say OEL and another nice young forward or something then I might go that route, but it all depends on the offer. Because, like you, I think Hedman will be real good one day, although not an offensive juggernaut.

My sig is correct. I was just thinking of using him for bait for possibly one of OEL or Pietrangelo. My only issue is would I regret it next year or the year after. I had Pietrangelo up pretty high on my list as well. I will put the feelers out there just in case.
Thanks
