Default Tyler Myers

Will he bounce back next season, or be bad like this season? I know he's young, but what is the projection for him? 50-60 point potential?

My crystal ball is showing that he will not only mirror Zdeno Chara in height, but stats-wise too. Like Chara, Myers' best years should be in the 15+ goal, 45-50 point range. If you get one iota of production more than that, it's been a very good year for him. However, it may take him a while to get near those numbers again. For next year, i'd be looking at a 10-12 goal, 40 point season.

I agree, he has taken a step back this year and what worries me most are his plus minus numbers, -14. You just can't ignore him in keeper leagues though, too much size and too much potential to resist drafting later than usual.

I think both with him and Johnson can't dismiss what they showcased last year jsut because they didn't match it again this year...you know what they're capable of , they have validated it at an NHL level, and are both extremely young so I wouldn't weigh this seasons 45 game block as the end all be all of their long term fantasy value...both should be 45+ solid D-men and Johnson out of the two has more of a threat in Pietrangelo than Myers in Buffalo

I agree with this. Young Dmen always seem to have an off year after a very successful first year. Its pretty common.

Good thread as I have been offered Myers and JVR FOR my Lidstrom.I am strongly considering this.
I think Myers will slot in to somewhere between last year and this year.A soild 40-45 pt defensemen, and 55+ on a really good year

As much as it will hurt trading a legend like Lidstrom, in a keeper league, this is a move you need to make. I have a lot of faith in Myers and think he ends up a very steady 45-55 point player soon.

Getting Myers and JVR for the aging Lidstrom in a keeper league is a very smart move. as for Myers he will be OK I am going to compare him to Luke Schenn (Not that Schenn has the O) But Schenn had a very tough 2nd year and this year he has come back and played great!! Myers will be a great guy to own next year for sure! and for many years to come.

They all have down years...look at Green...He was a PPG Dman for the last few years and is on pace to do under 1/2 of that...Myers will turn it around and start to put it all together consistently in a few years...It took Chara years to become consistent...

For that trade...jump all over it in a keeper...
