Shatts I could see (hittin 60) because he is in an ideal situation (as MT suggested). Karlsson, not so much...certainly no lock, in my eyes.

Doughty, definitely....

People are enamored with trying to grab a guy before he breaks out, and often let that cloud their judgment.

I also worry that Subban might be heading down a path similar to Eric Johnson where immaturity and other issues might derail what looked to be a sure fire superstar career.
There's a deal to be made for sure but the other owner wants Mikko Koivu, Jason Pominville and Subban for Galiardi, Backlund, Green. To make the situation more difficult to accept, the owner of Green is likely one of 3-4 of the owners who can really compete against me.

Koivu is really valuable in our league considering the special teams points so I am not willing to give him both Koivu and Subban in the deal for Green.

I voted 50-54, its buy low time in dynasty and keeper leagues IMO. The fact that his has so much skill and talent is one thing, but that slapper when he gets it off, its always on target and its an absolute rocket. I think the Habs will pick between Wisniewski and Markov, P.K. will then move up to the 1st D pairing.
That's how I see it.

I agree with your Subban analysis here. His shot is what makes him so valuable. There's no way that Wisniewski is their "answer" long term. I agree that the habs will choose between Markov and Wiz but if they go with Wisniewski then I think it's for the short term - a 1 or 2 year extension.

I think you made the right move there, Backlund and Galiardi have little value if any. Green does not equal PK, Mikko and Pommy.
Especially in your format.

Thanks dm

If he were to give me one decent forward back then I would definitely consider it more because it makes my decision at the end of the season of who to drop much easier.

We drop 5 each off season

As it stands, my for sure drops are:
- Marc Andre Bergeron, Paul Martin, Mathieu Perreault, Tuomu Ruutu and one of Steen/Pominville/Luongo

**Luongo is only droppable in our league because we only carry 1 goalie with 20 teams. There are still about 4 quality starters on the waiver wire right now. Next year, I can only expect that C.Schneider takes even more starts from Luongo too. There will be several teams dropping goaltenders this season too***

If I made the deal then my drops become much easier to make but it's the fact that I am dealing some quality depth players to one of my biggest competitors that has me not accepting the deal.

If the deal was made, my drops would be:
Galiardi, Backlund, Perreault, Ruutu, Martin
***I would keep then be able to keep Luongo and Steen***

I don't think you should drop Luongo at all, why would you? It doesn't make sense to me. I'd drop MAB, Martin, Ruutu, Pominville and Steen. Perrault is worth hanging on to and obviously Bobby Lu is too. There is also a strong possibility Schneider gets traded at the deadline, because the Canucks are really going for it this year.

I agree that the deal is too negatively lopsided for you to consider. I happen to subscribe to the idea that the person who gets the best overall player in a deal usually wins out, but clearly there are limits, as is shown here. Plus, I think that adage does not often apply when you're talking about deals with 3+ players on each side. When a GM approaches me with a trade involving 3+ players I always get very suspicious, since I find that owners use that as a ploy to disguise a bad deal.

There s absolutely no way that I keep Perreault over Pominville or Steen. He could be had in the 2nd or 3rd round next year. Pominville or Steen will definitely be 1st round pick ups if i dropped them.

Chalk me up for thinking PK will be an annual member of the 50-54 club once he gets cranking. He will sprinkle in a few 46-48 point years as well as a couple 56-60 pointers too.
