You have 1 spot left in your keepers and you have to choose between Vlasic or Bourdon. Points only, lifetime pool. Your team will most likely not be a competitor in 07-08 but could do damage in 08-09.

Who gets the nod?? Discuss.

Vlasic...

Bourdon is a stong 2 way defenceman and will put up good points and should stay a long time the LG a while... but vancouver has a tough time pulling the trigger on good trades and having oberto loundo undercontract kinda eats up a good 1/5th of the cap so adding good offencive support in vancouver can be hit or miss... the canucks well always be a good defencive team but I dont see huge GF #s in thier future...

SJ has shown in cycles they are willing to add big players... they all so have decided Vlasic is a PP player... Vlasic has shown quietly he can throw up decent #s...

I have had this same decision in my lg and I choose Vlasic... just because of the lack of strong D men in the SJ system to take his spot...

Bourdon has more skill and pure talent in my opinion... but Vlasic I see has more fantasy value for a team... but it can change at anytime with the right moves with thier support staffs...

Bourdon - way more upside, you\'ll just have to wait longer (five years or even more), but it\'s not like Vlasic will hit the 50-point mark in the meantime...he probably won\'t

This is tough I think both guys are wildcards. Pickles seems to be a good team player. I can\'t see him throwing up too many points. I would agree with Dobber and go with Bourdon.

Vlasic had better numbers than Bourdon in the QMJHL, although you have to cut Bourdon a little slack as he played for three different teams, plus the WJHC and 9 NHL games.

In SJ, Vlasic is behind Carle and Ehrhoff for PP time. That said, Bourdon will be lucky to see any PP time next year.

Bourdon has the advantage of still being a \"prospect\", while we\'ve been able to watch Vlasic over an entire season.

I agree that it will take 3-5 years for Bourdon to put up draftable numbers. No way I wait that long to maybe get 50 pts five years from now. I\'m the type of guy who stands in front of the microwave telling it to hurry up.

Bourdon MAY be the better scorer 5 years from now, but Vlasic is the best bet over the next 2-3 years. Vlasic\'s already got one year under his belt. Keep Vlasic.

My preferance is Vlasic. I say that because he is in the league and Bourdon is still on his way up. Bourdon may or may not be in the league next year. It will depend on his camp. Vlasic has shown his strong defensive play. That will keep him in the league. I am hopeful that he will get more opportunity to show his offensive side. That opportunity could present itself if either of their pp quarterbacks went down with injury. He is only 20 years old so might show offensive promise if just given the opportunity.

For the present, you know that Vlasic will be in the league while Bourdon is attempting to crack the lineup.

Does Bieksa not interest you or is he not available? I think that he is only going to get better.
