Default Is Carter too much for Visnovsky?

I'm still on my hunt for a solid D man to give me five on my team. I'm trying to lock in Visnovsky for Doan based on Doan's resurgence and ability to land hits. I'm not sure where that will take me, so I'm thinking of the next move.

Should I offer the GM Carter (who I recently acquired) for Visnovsky in a straight trade or is that overpaying? Carter has RW/C eligibility and a point per game upside, but I could be coming close to max games played by the end of the year.

If it is an overpayment, where do you suggest I go from there? He also has Edler and Weber on D as well.

You've got Green Lidstrom Keith and Karlsson...why do you want a D-man at all...if you want to move Carter do it for a LW, not another D

I know I have some great D men, but I have an extra 33 games at the D position I could use, whereas in LW, RW, and C, I'm in the positives by about 10 games in each position. That's why I'm looking to add another D.

Given the games played factor I think you can afford the hit on production by moving Carter for a D. I would try to move him for someone better than Vis if you can. Definitely target Weber from that GM first. He is finally back on track this season. If not Weber, maybe shop around to other GMs first.

When in doubt put him up on the block another GM might bite.

I read the headline and thought, not a chance. Then before I read the link, I thought, must be one year. It is. Then I read the '33 games' to catch up on the blueline. An overage on RW of 10. I glanced at your RW, it's loaded.

So, the deal makes sense. Visnovsky is probably more valuable in your format.

They are both pretty steady fellows. Not sure if you can do anything to asset your LW. Particularly when you get Stewart back, you would like to do something.

Nice team.

4T2 - I'd like to go for Letang but he's owned by the second place team who is trying desperately to close the gap. Buff is not being traded as his owner refuses to give him up. Enstrom came from the GM who originally traded me Carter and I'm not sure if he'd be willing to take him back because of it.

Old_Smokie - The trading block in our game is relatively shitty. It allows other GMs to know you want to get rid of a player and then, in turn, low ball you.

Also, I think that I could land Jack Johnson for a lot less. Is it worth picking him up?

I like Visnovsky but I would target Weber to help with you across the board, and a straight up swap for Carter seems like a good offer.

However, you need to know what the other manager needs beforehand. It's one thing to target someone you need, but if the other manager has an equal need, then trading is less likely. If this manager has an abundance of solid D and needs a RW/C replacement, then it's a good fit. Especially given your games played.
