Hey guys so this is for the second team in my sig (Yahoo H2H). I am trying to get a stud centre (a real one since Malkin screws me in FOW) and I have a plethora of wingers so I offered J. Staal and Marleau for Backstrom. I just received a counter offer of his Backstrom and Laich for my J. Staal (just got him off the ww) Marleau and Nash or Healtey. I think its a bit steep of a price but we only keep 5 at the end of the year. So it could give me Backstrom, Malkin, Kovalchuk, Heatley/Nash and Kane (or Bryz or Rinne if I keep a tender). Is this too much to give up? ive posted his team below if anyone feels like making other suggestions as to a counter offer.

So the only difference between the offer you made and the one he countered with was the addition of Laich for Nash/Heatley?

If he's giving you the choice of which one to part with, I would definitely choose Nash and hold onto Heatley.

But the overall trade of:

Backstrom + Laich

FOR

J. Staal + Marleau + Nash

is not too steep, in my mind.

Out of preference, I may ask for Hartnell instead of Laich since you count PIMs and Hits in your league. But it sounds like you two are in the same ballpark, at least.

You would be getting the best player in a limited keeper situation and would also be able to pick someone up off the wire to replace the extra guy you were trading away. Who's available on the wire?

So it would actually be:

Backstrom + Laich/Hartnell + WW Pick

I guess you would have to do the math on that one on which you prefer but as a pure scorer, I'd take Heatley hands-down.

Heatley > Nash, IMO.

Hits - Advantage: Nash (by 7)
PIM - Advantage: Heatley (by 16)

But Heatley will outscore Nash.
