First team in sig, pts only (goalies are 1 W, 1 SO) and we keep 6 from year to year...

So far my keepers would be Crosby, Thornton, Kovalchuk, Green, Fleury and then I would chose between one of Duchene/Ryan (who is c/w eligible on Yahoo).

I'm currently in 1st by a nice margin and should pull through, but there's a lot of hockey left so I've contacted the Sedin owner and he wants to deal. My initial offer is this (no response thus far)...

My: Thornton, Ryan, Benn

for his: D. Sedin, Filppulla, Leino

I thought I was being quite generous but when you consider he has quality keepers going forward - top 6 are currently: Datsyuk, Toews, M. Koivu, Sedin, Vanek, Ward...

What do you think?

I see Ryan as a nice upgrade over either Koivu or Vanek (especially Vanek) but will it be enough to downgrade from Sedin to Ryan?

Also, if this deal goes through I would promptly drop Filppula for a better player on waivers (e.g. Stepan, Frohlik, etc)

Id do that deal. In a limited keeper format, you win almost any deal when you get the best player. And Sedin is definitely that.

This deal probably doesnt help you any extra this season, seeing as the 3 guys on each side of the deal should combine for pretty even point totals, but it leaves you with 6 great keepers and will only help going forward.

Ill be surprised if he accepts seeing as you need to protect your superstars in limited keepers, but let us know.

So if you plan to drop Filppula then remove him from the offer and the owner will be more likely to say yes to the trade. He'll feel like he is coming away with the better deal.
