Hey guys, I'm looking to make a deal to give my team a boost later in the year. Also want to sell high on Sharp.
Roster/League in signature. I plan on offering Sharp, Getzlaf, and Hemsky for Kopitar and Heatley. Am I crazy? Overpaying/underpaying? Should I look for other buys right now? (Heatley hasn't been spectacular lately and Kopitar and Getz are even, but LA has played 5 less games. Doubt the other owner knows that). Also considered going after Backstrom (Wash.) but my C's aren't in need like my LW, and that guy doesn't have much for me in that area. Thanks for the input!

I think you're wasting your time and undervaluing Sharp quite a bit....i'd stick with Sharp Getzlaf side personally if I already had that and vica versa if I had Heatley Kopitar as I don't think your gaining a ton either way...Sharp's breakout campaign is no fluke and with the way Perry is playing this season I'd hold tight on Getzlaf as he'll be 85-90 point pace producer in Anaheim this year....pretty much lateral move in my opinion not even including the Hemsky factor which makes it even less worth it

Thanks for the quick reply MT. I realize it seems a bit lateral (as I said Getz and Kopitar are pretty much dead even, with Getz having more PIM). But I definitely think Heatley is an upgrade to Sharp. The past says Sharp won't keep up his point per game pace while Heatley will likely surpass it. (Let's be honest, the Big-3 in SJ MUST start producing).
Also, I'm throwing in Hemsky because I have an abundance of RW and his are Heatley, Iginla, Hornqvist, and Byfuglien. Plus I'll have Hemsky and Downie coming of IR eventually and need to clear some space. If this deal isn't worth it, what should I look to improve? I know my LW needs help, so does my D and my G (courtesy of Brodeur). Who are some good guys to target for a big second half?

yea but past says Heatley shouldn't slack like he's done all season either yet he has just like Thornton and Marleau...that's why you weigh the present more heavily...Sharp slacking becuse he slacked in the past is not a rational reason why he should slack (which I by no means expect him to) anymore than I think Byfuglien is a fluke in ATL just because he never scored close to this pace even as a forward option in seasons prior...judge stuff based predominantly on their present situation...it's not a bad move by any means so don't get that impression but if I want an upgrade i'd look to move a C off that squad long before selling on Sharp

Noted. But really none of us are clairvoyants, so when it comes to fantasy hockey I feel like past trends are just as important to consider as the present.
Do you really think Sharp will finish above 82 points this year? With 350 shots on goal? That's what he's on pace for, but I honestly don't see it happening. Could it? Absolutely. But is it likely? Who knows. With Kane coming back soon and Hossa just returning, might that start affecting his production? I agree I need to ship a C out, but with such a shallow league, everyone has pretty decent ones already, so the most likely way of getting rid of one is a package deal.

I like that deal. I also think that Sharp is going to slow down so while his value is so high I think that you should offer the deal.

That was the story 2 months ago when everyone wanted to sell him yet that never occurred...I think Sharp is better than Hossa for sure this season and he very well could play with Kane even strength as well to where he produces at the similar pace as Kane from here out...do as you please though....I'm just not very high on Heatley this season personally

Thanks again to those who replied.
Any other opinions on this deal?

I woudl take the Kopitar side. You may want to see what's up with Getz's injury first though.
