The thought of dropping Shatts was more of an afterthought once the move was already made. I always seem to second guess 1st year players.

It's funny because I was going to take Wiz over Suter a few days ago but the whole NYI thing scared me away. Now that he's on my team it seemed like a no brainer.

Thanks for the input guys!

Dropping Shattenkirk in a one year league isn't crazy. In a keeper league it is pure lunacy. I dropped Shattenkirk for Wisniewski as soon as I heard the news. Shattenkirk had a good run and he will be an exceptional fantasy defenceman, but as a rookie, I am not expecting him to have the stamina or consistency to make a real difference fantasy wise this year. I rode him while he was hot and dropped him for a better option once he was cold.

I hope I was right, but in one year H2H leagues, you have to go with your gut feeling a lot of the time. My gut was telling me to go with the hot hand and that is definitely Wisniewskiat this point.

cheers,

AW

That's a weak move...he wasn't producing because he was "hot" he was producing because he gets heavy pp time on an extremely talented offensive squad in Colorado which is where he remains...he's also much better skillwise than Liles so I really don't like that drop at all as Shattenkirk obviously isn't gonna score at 70 point pace but he will score at 45+ on that Av's top PP unit...rookie or otherwise

In the last decade, there have only been two players to score more than 45 points in their rookie season. Myers and Phaneuf.

I'm not saying that Shattenkirk cant do it. I just think the past has shown it to be extremely unlikely . In my opinion, I think Wisniewski is a fair gamble. I'm not stuck with the choice, there are other options on the wire and I will dip into it if I have to. If anyone is relying on Shattenkirk for a major contribution to from their defensive position, they are in trouble anyway.
