Does he remain on the #1 PP? What can we expect in the coming years? Will he become a fantasy stud? I am having a hard time getting a handle on him and what to expect in the next few seasons.
I may acquire him in a deal, so any information would be really helpful.

His stay on the PP1 is no gaurantee especially with a young offensive Goligoski chomping at the bit. I would expect about 35-40 points from Martin. Of course he could get 40+ if he sees time with Crosby (like Letang is doing right now) but I wouldn't bank on that
He will fall into the 35-45 point range as a Penguin.

hmnn. Not quite what I was hoping for, but I agree with you, Dean. I was offered Martin/Gagne for Boyle and a throw in, and it is looking like Martin may not be enough in return...
Thanks for the insight. More please!!

Thanks ween.
Kinda illustrates my dilemma. On the one hand, it looks like he has solidified his spot on the top PP (a big deal to me, if I acquire him), but it also looks like he just is not an offensive guy. Man, I am really struggling with making this move (Boyle/Little for Martin/Gagne)...

dont make it. You PM'd me and I stand by my decision. Boyle is by far the best player in the deal. Little is more (or equal) valuable than Gagne.
Martin is a valuable dman to the Pittsburgh Penguins and will play top line minutes but in the end he's a 35-45 dman (not a 50-60 point dman like Boyle). You need him to upgrade either Gagne or Martin in that offer. Boyle has several years left IMO and now isn't the time to move him. Not yet anyways |
