PG Section - 1 Month Anniversary!

Well Dobberites it's officially been a month since our section opened up and it's been a blast. Minus a few hiccups, this place has really boomed and I love it. This is an amazing commitment and I'm proud to be so involved.

I know it's said often, but a BIG thanks to all the current writers and helpers that keep this section going. Each of your contributions make this place rocking and it's simply awesome to see it grow so fast. It is very appreciated.

Now what would a month anniversary post be without mentioning yet another new feature to the section?! haha...

Yep, please welcome PrairieDog to our all star squad! PD will be contributing on his own pace a Hockey Legends (name still TBD) series that will highlight the careers of some of hockey's best. PD saw many great games along the years and will be more than happy to share some of his fondest memories including that of Teemu Selanne & his time in Winnipeg. You won't want to miss this!

To finish up, I was going through some of the topics I've started before the section and I found a few that could be of interest to members who may have missed them. Figured I'd share the threads again and kind of immortalize them into this section. I'll be doing the same with my Trade Fever series that was published for hockeypoolgeek.com. Feel free to ask any questions about them or add to the discussion!

Key Hockey Websites - A collection of websites that cater to many different hockey pool needs.

Pimping your Roster Page - Fancy up your Roster page with a how to guide to implement player images into your line up.

League Tags - Spice up your signature or avatar with a customized league tag.

NHL emoticons for IM - Great for hockey conversations on instant messaging programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger etc...

So there you have it folks, one successful month done and hopefully many more to come!

Also, while having thought about bringing in a new challenge this week, I'd think it be awesome to resurrect a fan favourite. A couple of weeks ago, forum member MolsonX attempted to bring back the stellar Saturday Pickem's (credit to doulos & his blessings). Whether it was short notice, a slow a week or whatever, it didn't really pick up. I personally love and fully endorse this challenge as it's not only a great pro-line tracker but awesome friendly competition as well.

That said, is anybody up to the challenge to bring this feature back and take it under their wing?

Point system:

1)You select one of the following choices

H - Home team wins (1 point)
V - Visiting team wins (1 point)
H+ - Home team wins by 2 or more goals (2 points)
V+ - Visiting team wins by 2 or more goals (2 points)
T - The game is a tie (or a shootout win by 1 team - games won in overtime are not considered ties) (3 points)

Shootout wins are not considered wins but are considered ties for this. If you select H - and the home team wins by 2 or more then you still only get 1 points. If you select H+ and the home team only wins by 1 then you get 0 points.

The deadline for submitting picks is just before the first game on the Saturday starts. You can edit your picks, just as long as the last edit is done before cutoff.
