Studs of the Night

Honourable Mention: Sedin Twins combine for 4 points and lead the win over EDM.

In the Rangers cross-hair - Lundqvist with the Shutout against the Caps.
7 goals and 7 Rangers with a 2 point night + Dubinsky with a Gordie Howe Hat trick and took down Ovechkin.

Top Line ANA & Perry Express - Ducks top line combined for a season best 11 points and for all 6 goals (3rd time each of Perry, Getzlaf and Ryan scored at least one goal in a given game this season). Perry had a solid night as he recorded his first career hat trick with ES, PP & SH goals. The shorty was scored on his first ever penalty shot. Perry also finished with a +4 and 6 SOG while Ryan and Getzlaf had 3 points each as well.

Ryan's Smooth Move - To top it off, Ryan scored a goal with Mikko Koivu's stick (after Koivu stole his). Sin Bin's response is spot on "I like how he showed it to Koivu after scoring, like you ripped my stick out of my hands so I just scored with yours..." Duds of the Night

Varlamov Shelled - Varlamov let in 7 goals on 20 shots good for a respectable .650 SV%.
I feel bad for forum member Letnry who's goalie stats this week were very tight and all depended on this game. His Varlamov against their Lundqvist. Ouch! Sorry buddy...

Capital loss - After winning 4 in a row with 15 goals for, the Caps have lost 6 in a row and have only scored 7 (one 4 goal game) in that span. Ovechkin only 4 points in December (7gp) and Semin 3 points. Eeesh..

Koivu Karma'd – Stealing Ryan's stick and then cries wolf to the refs. Can't say he didn't deserve it!

Ruling on the play: Mikko Koivu should have received a penalty for stealing Bobby Ryan's stick out of his hands; however, no penalty was called and Ryan (since Koivu stole his stick) was therefore allowed to use Koivu's stick making it a good goal. [Credit to jeffl97 for the ruling]

Additional Notes :

Both MIN D Brent Burns and Ducks RW Joffrey Lupul played in their 400th regular-season game.
The Koivu brothers didn't face off tonight as Saku was held out with the flu. When the brothers play against each other – Saku has 1g and 4a while Mikko has 3g & 3a.

I was down 30 points tonight in my pool with only Perry, Ryan, B Boyle & Girardi playing tonight against the other guy's 8 players. I beat him by 25 because of the Perry/Ryan combo tonight, sweet giggedy!!!

too funny because i was on the flip side of this. i tied SHO bc of lundy in one league and stole 3 goalie stats in another bc of him. but in that first league i lost SHP, goals and PPP stats bc of perry. couldnt even enjoy the getzlaf, ryan dominance.
