Default Thursday Dec. 2nd Studs & Duds

Studs

David Krejci - BOS

Krejci had a great game last night picking up 3 points (2 G, 1A,+4, 2 shots) Krejci recorded his first goal in a over a month. His last goal was a game winner against Ottawa on October 30th. Boston won a lopsided game 8-1.

Hat Trick Special
The season of the "hat trick" continues as 2 star players lit the lamp 3 times last night.

Sidney Crosby - PIT
Crosby was once again lights out for the Pens as he potted 3 goals last night in a 3-2 win over Atlanta. He finished +2 and had 5 shots. Best player in the game right now. Produces no matter who his linemates are.

Marian Gaborik - NYR
Gaborik was a fantasy monster last night recording a hat trick and an assist. Gabby also recorded 6 shots on net. NYR edge the NYI 6-5.

Goalies shut the door !

Antti Niemi - SJ
Picks up his first shutout of the year. I don't have much to say about this game. I'm a sens fan.

Nik Khabibulin - EDM
In his first game since nov. 17th, Khabibulin won in the best way possible by posting his second shutout against the lowly maple leafs. The Bulin Wall had previously lost his last 4 starts. 33 saves last night. The Oilers sweep their eastern conference road trip.

Honorable mentions

Jordan Eberle 1 G 2 A, +3
Taylor Hall 2 Goals, +3, 4 shots
Michael Ryder 1 G 2 A, +2
Tim Thomas W - 1 GA - 37 saves - .974 SP - 1 Assist
Carey Price W -1 GA - 27 saves - .964 SP
Andrew Raycroft W - 1 GA - 37 saves - .973 SP

Duds

Johan Hedberg - NJ
Hedberg got pulled quickly in last night's game allowing 2 goals on the 3 shots he faced. New Jersey went on to lose this one big time, 5-1 to Montreal. Boy, they must be missing Marty Brodeur right now.

Rick Dipietro - NYI
Dipietro let in 6 goals against on only 26 shots. .769 On a night when the isles scored some goals, the goalie couldn't keep 'em out.

Mike Smith - TB
Smith was pulled after giving up five goals on 21 shots and was replaced by Dan Ellis.

The Ottawa Senators

Not fantasy relevant, but this wasn't how it was suppose to go down. On a night when Heatley returns the Senators came up short and played terrible hockey. As a Sens fan, I was disgusted at the way they played. I gotta admit, the Sharks are just a much better team. Obviously. Looks like heatley gets the last laugh... He did play very well.

I have watched Hall for years living in the Windsor area and I have to say I have never liked his play but for the first time last night he impressed me...mind you that was against my Leafs (The Real Worst Team in the League) as for Bhulin well I could put on pads and shutout the Leafs this year they just stink (Leafs Rant Over...here at least, I have a blog and a section to take out fustrations in)

It's funny that the Ontario Duo both get shut out in the same night.

Thanks for covering the staides and daides the last three nights Lamothe!

lol, thought you'd get a kick out of that one.

On that note, since you watched the game, did you see any Ottawa fans throw their Heatley jerseys on the ice like some were promoting?
