Default Kesler/Johnson or J. Staal/Goligoski

Might be able to get one of the two combos in my points-only league. Which would you go for? (This year is a write off for me).

Thanks, Metaldude.
I'm curious why you see it so clear cut.
I prefer Kesler over Staal, considering he's already achieved 70+, but I'm starting to worry about EJ. I was actually leaning more to the Staal side.

A little context, these are competing offers I have for my Briere and Whitney. Not sure either is enough, but trying to figure out which one to pursue.

Kesler and Johnson easily. I'd easily prefer Kesler over Staal given the first line PP time he gets with the Sedins, and Johnson has much more upside. He was drafted #1 for a reason, and with his injury this is effectively only his 3rd season.

Yeah Kesler over Staal is clear cut. And if you are starting to worry about EJ then you should be feeling the same about Goligoski, this season hasn't been a walk in the park for him either. All in all I'd Goli and EJ have similar upside but neither are achieving it so you just have to take what you know and that's that Kesler>>>Staal.

I definitely don't think the Staal offer is enough and I can't say with certainty that the Kesler one is either. Assuming that Briere is now more of a 60-70 point player with upside then you'd really need to have EJ hitting his upside to beat out Whitney.

between the two i like Kesler/EJ side easily too. I think Kesler will be much more consistant than Staal.

In all reality i like what you have to start with. Briere is very underrated and a lot of that has to do with the flyers playing him out of position on the wing. Since he has moved back to center he has dominated. The Leino/Briere/Hartnell line is the most potent and consistent line on the flyers right now and leads the argument as the number one line.

i would stick with briere/whitney.

Ineresting Rook. You make a good point. I've already asked the Kesler owner if he'll up his offer a bit. We'll see what he comes back with if anything. I agree Briere is good and he does seem to be undervalued in my league. At the same time, my core is young and I likely won't be competitive for another couple of years. So I think the age difference betwen Kesler and Briere would be good for me. I'm just not crazy about the Whitney for EJ side of the deal.
