Need to lock in in on a 2nd d-man keeper.
Options are Weber, Bouwmeester, Carle.
Would appreciate some help...thanks.

I\'ve owned both Weber and Carle, and I think Weber\'s the best roto-player of the three. Bouwmeester\'s got more experience and name value, but Weber got to the same calibre of play faster. Weber also carries better upside for PIMs, I figure.

If your pool counts +/- for D-men, then Bouwmeester comes much closer. Some would be put off by his career NHL +/- of -20, but this year he proved he can play responsibly (+23).

Carle splashed into the NHL in Spring \'06 with Hobey Baker fanfare, but this year\'s demotion and subsequent call-up tells me he might not be the complete package yet. He might be the best offensive player of the three, but unless he can continue to play more responsible D he won\'t get even-strength minutes.

All 3 are great keepers. Tough choice.

For me its a no-brainer, I\'d easily go with Boumeester. Hes just too solid and has shown great talent when it comes to getting the points. I like Weber and Carle thing is Weber plays on a team with another 3-4 good d-men and Carle I think will not be as good as he was this year. He is a max 40 point d-man as to Boumeester who if he can get some better teammates can be a 55-60 point d-man.

I\'d go with Boumeester easily unless theres a salary cap and somehow Jay costs much more then Carle or Weber.

I couldn\'t disagree more regarding Carle\'s upside. I think he could score 60, and not too far down the road either.

That being said, Weber really impressed me with those 17 goals this season. I often forget that he\'s actually the youngest of the three. While Bouwmeester keeps showing us what he\'s capable of in stretches, he has yet to put it together for a full season. If I thought that Florida were going to be a great team anytime soon, I might say go with him. But I don\'t think they will, and he still has something to prove.

So I\'d say Weber (as Nashville continues to improve, so will he), followed by Carle, followed by Bouwmeester. Each by just a hair, and recognizing that valid arguments could be made to flip the order entirely.

I would go Weber, Bouwmeester and then Carle.

You got to take into account defensive play as well as their offensive potential. If they can\'t stop the puck from getting by them, then their offense counts for nothing when they\'re sitting in the press box.

Weber and Bouwmeester are both solid defensively.

In order, I would go with Bouwmeester, Webber and Carle.

Carle is still young and I think that he\'s not proven yet.

Webber is strong in every stats you want, but Bouwmeester will explode offensively soon. He\'s got more experience, and he\'s matured.

I would have to go with:

1. Weber: Will play a more expanded role with Nashville next season. He is a top Defenseman in the league.

2. Bouwmeester: Is defensivly sound and has good offensive upside.

3. Carle: However he might have the biggest point production upside of the bunch (my opinion anyways), his defensive play does need a little help. He will get better as the years wear on and in the end he might end up being the best of the bunch.
