I am trying to figure out who to go after in a trade to solidify my D-Corp. Which player would you prefer to have in a Dynasty League? Thanks in advance.

I see Phoenix double-teaming 1st PP duty with OEL and Yandle in the near future... I also see Phoenix's offensive game taking flight as Turris, Hanzal and Boedker develop. I see decline in Ottawa when Alfie and Gonchar fades.
I'd go with OEL. |

I love both of these kids A LOT!! But if I had to choose I would have to go with Erik Karlsson. He is pure offense while OEL is a more well-rounded player who will take on additional duties. Karlsson is a Ferrari; OEL is a Bentley. In fantasyland, give me the Ferrari.
The Yotes also have a few other defensemen capable of running a PP, while Karlsson is the undisputed head honcho for the Sens long-term. Even with a PP king like Gonchar manning the point, Karlsson still gets his PP time and golden opportunities. Wiercioch and Rundblad are offensively gifted, but unless they are the next Coffey and MacInnis, Karlsson has the main job in the bag. As great as Ekman-Larsson is, I still think other Yote D-Men are poised to gobble up some of those fringe fantasy points. I think TOC makes a valid point about the Yotes producing more team offense in the future but that does not always reflect on certain defensemen. Think back to when Dion was putting up monster numbers on a offensively modest Flames club. The Sens will still have Spezza, Regin, Foligno and others. They also have some chips to cash in if they need to address the offense and they can also dip into the UFA pool (as they did with Gonchar this past summer). The bottom line is, both of the kids are special. All around, I think OEL has the potential to be one of the best defensemen in the NHL for the next decade. Offensively, I think Karlsson will be elite.
