Default Cody Franson

Hello gents,

In a lifetime keeper pool, points only, is he worth picking up for a rebuilding team?

Can you guys tell me when will be his ETA in the NHL?

Thanks,

Blue.

Yes, he is very much worth owning. On any team but Nashville I\'d say he\'d be called up next year, but with their depth on the blue line I\'d expect a year of seasoning in the AHL.

Kid\'s got a great shot and good speed for a guy his size. Great defensively, punishing body checker. He should be a fine two-way defenseman with a 45 pt upside in Nashville or 55 pt upside somewhere else (with less competition). I also think he could exceed either of those numbers if he can solve his consistency woes. He started off the season neck and neck with Russell and Macias, then (as during last season) tailed off later on. Perhaps it\'s because of his physical style of play, but if he overcomes the habit, he should do very well.

I disagree. I love Franson with the puck, but tend to get worried when the guy coming down on his does. I\'ve seen him play dozens of times, and his footspeed is lacking. Not that he\'s a horrible defender, but he has problems with fast attackers. At times, he\'s a pylon.

But like I said, with the puck, he\'s fantastic: breakout passes, slick moves, great shot.

Go Giants!

Hmmm...thanks for that Jawa. Sounds like he\'ll be a couple of years yet.

That said, the scouts are high on him, so long term I think he\'ll be a great one. You just may have to sit on him for awhile.
