Default Boyes or Afinogenov? Or others?

I\'m in the waiting period of a trade to get Hossa for Sundin and Langkow. Since I gave up two for one, I will have an open slot as soon as the transaction is complete and will have first pick (normally weekly add/drop) because of the trade.

My question is who should I pick up? With Gagne coming back and Marleau starting to get it going, I should be set up front. My thought was to pick up Boyes or Afiny to replace Langkow, but I may not even need it.

I could use the slot for an extra d-man. Ranger and Jovo are available.

Who would you guys recommend picking up? Boyes, Afiny, Ranger or Jovo.

Just FYI, I am 3 weeks up in first place in a weekly HTH with 11 weeks left, so I have room to play around and take a flier on a solid hunch.

Boyes is having a great season and I don\'t see him slowing down. The Blues are a very good team this year and him and Kariya are playing well together. I picked him up as a FA in late October and he\'s been dynamite.

i don\'t think you can go wrong with either, I may lean slightly more towards boyes as he, kariya and mcdonald can do good things. However as Dobber notes today in his ramblings Afino has picked up his play of late with 6 pts in the last 6 games. Ultimately it may end up a coin flip but you can\'t argue with boyes steady production all year.

I\'d go with Boyes. He\'s more of a sure thing . . . for now.

As said already...go with Boyes, especially if goals are given more weight like in many pools.

Keep an eye on Afino though, if he continues to light it up you might want to cut somebody for him.

Boyes
Afinigenov
Jovo
and in that order. If Afi keeps it rolling he can light it up but with Roy out that could change overnite.

Jovo is having a season and could impact defense points not bad to have any of those guys on the heap.....

My first question about your post is how do you see it that Marleau is heating up? I must have missed something.

Gotta love Boyes situation and production. You pulled a pretty sweet deal here I think. I am going to be a little contrary here and suggest you grab Afinogenov - he has a strong potential to go nutty here. I would also consider dumping Marleau for Boyes - frankly don\'t see Marleau outproducing Boyes to the end regardless. There was a reason that Boyes was drafted in the first round - we are starting to really see it.

Really - as you suggest - what\'s the risk? not much
