Rask has been nothing short of spectacular this year in Finland. He was NHL ready this season, in fact, and it showed. He just dominated, keeping his team in games when they shouldn\'t have been.

I don\'t know if it\'s that the Bs ruin a lot more goalies than anyone else, but they sure do make them look better. Byron Dafoe, Jim Carey, Andrew Raycroft, Hannu Toivonen... that comment about Toivonen having \'problems between the ears\' can be applied to all of the above. They became too cocky after too much success too fast. Rask will easily come into the league and rip it up. He just needs to keep his head on his shoulders and he\'ll have a long career.

Yes, Rask has been incredible, but let\'s not forget that he\'s playing in a league where a couple of Kariya\'s put up 60 pt seasons to lead all players in scoring. SM-Liiga is a fine development league, but it is no NHL.

Bringing the kid over to the AHL to become accustomed to North American hockey makes perfect sense, but throwing him to the wolves (especially in front of a straw-house defense like Boston\'s) before he\'s had a chance to adjust does not seem like a good idea to me.
