He's on pace for 34 points and 184 shots after having 47 points and 277 shots last season, which of course was a decline from previous seasons.
I know Sutter has more of a focus on defense, so is 35-45 points the new expected range for Phaneuf? I may be able to put a package together of Phaneuf + a pick or youngster for Markov in my keeper league and debating whether to do it or not. Our league is points only, with a 2 point bonus for fights. Phaneuf had 80 pool points a couple seasons ago when he had 10 fights and 60 points, but last year he was down to 5 fights and this year on pace for 4, so he's falling there too. |

I'm not wild about doing that deal, I think you're selling low on phaneuf. I have to believe that he starts to turn this around eventually, it seems unlikely (though not impossible) that he would peak in the first 2 years of his career an then go on the decline.
If it's me, I'd stand pat. |

I wouldn't do this deal, especially in a keeper.
Markov is fantastic, but up until this season most would have had him ranked in the same area or lower than Phaneuf. Phaneuf is the younger of the two and I beleive that he will pick up the pace again. Your selling low on Phaneuf and buying Markov while his value is very high (he has been great since the return), thats a recipe for a losing team. Keep Phaneuf
