Rob Blake was just dropped in my one-year roto league. I have a significant number of d-men already, but Blake has potential out outplay Enstrom, Ozolinsh, and Kubina.

He is ancient, so the fact that he is in a contract year may not be that big of a deal, but is now the time to buy low and pick him up?

I know his +/- blows, but I am already in last in that category, but his PPP, PIMs, and SOG are what intrigue me.

He started off cold last season before compiling 11 points in 12 games in November.

Thoughts?

I think at this point, he\'s a decent risk. I agree he is ancient, but some of us would call that experienced!

He still gets PP time and pen mins. If you\'re not too worried about his +/- (as you said), he makes a great addition to your fantasy squad.

Thanks for the insight Comish...I am currently deciding who to drop to make it happen...probably Ozo...he was a last minute addition for the week (4 games) after Kubina went down.

I dropped about 7 points in +/- last week from the upper third to dead last, yet I am still in 1st by 8-10 points because of my overall strong performance in other offensive cats. If my goaltending starts performing better I should be tough to beat.

Is dropping Malone an option? He\'s got decent pen mins, but do you play him at all? I actually like the idea of riding Ozo while he\'s still healthy and logging 20 mins a game.

If you are stuck on Malone, then I\'d probably drop Ozo as well. I like what I\'m seeing from Enstrom lately and Poti will score when (finally) healthy.

Nope, I am not stuck on Malone by any means. I just wanted to see how he would do with Crosby and Malkin (plus contract year & 4th full season)...plus PP & PK time. He has a lot going for him, but has performed rather poorly thus far. I was more keen on dumping a d-man as I have Shea Weber and Berard coming back soon...which will make my d-line rather crowded.

Forward options for pickup are:
P. Bergeron IR
J. Langenbrunner DTD
A. Steen
P. Mueller
M. Samuelsson
A. Kotalik
D. Cleary
T. White
T. Zajac
etc.

So I am not stuck on by Malone by any means...although I may need some PIMs since I lost Bieksa and missed out on Carcillo. As a whole I tried to draft players who would log 40-50 PIMs minimum...so I avoided the P. Bergerons and Marleaus...
