Even worse than no trades or smack talk is all the GMs wanting the world from your team but giving up very little in return.

Even the classic two for one (when I'm rebuilding) doesn't lure them in.

Keep putting offers out there and jabbing with the smack talk and eventually someone will bite...here's hoping anyway.

Yeah, I keep sending out offers...but they don't even try a counter offer, just rejuct it with no comment. Hell I even sent out a couple offers they were obviously WAY in the other guys favor just to try and get some action going, but they just got rejected.

I am not the Commish, so all I can do is pass along suggestions and concerns.

I will probably look for an additional league to join next year. I will stay in the current one, just for old times sake, and find a more active one to feed my pool fix! LOL

I completely hear you about the boring part. I made some harsh quick decisions to ( what I thought ) was revamping one my leagues that started out to be really boring. But what I did was wrong and I " assumed" certain guys weren't " into it" and took it upon myself as the commish to make changes ( owner changes) thinking I was doing the right thing, but actually was a wrong thing to do. My owners didnt deserve to get the treatment they got - so definately a big " no no" on my end.

All I can say is just make some posts in your league to the other members, see if you get some positive responses about the future of your league.

So as you are not the commish, not much you can do, which is also a good thing sometimes haha. But dont try and get your commish to change out owners, that isnt the answer. Find ways amongst yourself to get " life" back in your league.

Maybe start over? Change up the format a bit, stuff like that.

Oh I would be a HORRIBLE Commish, so my hats off to anyone that is willing to tackle that task!! I am far to rash and impulsive to handle it.

As long as everyone keeps their line ups current and logs in once a week or so at the very least I would never suggest getting rid of owners. We could add a couple of teams next year perhaps and hope some new blood kick starts some things.

Just read this thread for fun...check out my league: sniperscup.com - It's Dobber's feature league in the latest podcast.

Anyway my advice is ti probably join another league. That or make full scale boots. If guys are dogging it, tube them. It's a hockey pool..so they won't really care. But you've gotta make changes.

I've ran my league since 1998 and we've tubed guys from time to time if they're not particiating. Now we've got 22 guys that just LOVE it. It might as well be a second job for them. the message board is bumping..well over a 100 posts a day and guys just talk about it non stop. Our gf's and wives just roll their eyes when we all get together. The SCHL is now an institution.

The more hard core guys you can add or bring in the more that were meh will become hardcore..it feeds off itself.

So to sum up...boot out useless guys. It seems nasty, but it's the cure.

PS - There's hardly any deals in my league..guys become in love thier love time guys they'd never dare deal them. They're part f the family!

I'm in a Salary Cap league and I find that can't be further from the truth. There are more trades since people are put in difficult cap positions, different angles to approach trades (since the relative value of skill and salary is different to each manager), things such as farm cap exemptions come in to consideration.

In fact, at the start of this season I traded Ian White for Dan Boyle. Would that happen in any non-cap league? More variables means more trades.

As for the original question on how to spice things up, instead of doing a redraft you might want to consider expansion. First of all teams are split up without destroying well drafted and managed teams. More managers mean more trade partners and more discussion.

So any Commish's have a dead and bad team they need someone to try and salvage? The crappier it is the better, I like a challenge! LOL....Would kind of prefer something close to the pool I am in, just the basics. Not as crazy about the H2H format.
