Default Niemi / Garon / Auld

Who do you like best in a one-year league with W, GAA, SV%, and SO as categories?

Niemi got off to a great start (contract year too) and Huet has looked very average. Garon seems to play much better as a backup and has a great defensive system in front of him. Turco is done, and Auld is in a contract year and had a good preseason...could take the reigns here. Suggestions?

Only Niemi would have any real value in the hopes Huet continues to be subpar and he gets to take over a top team..

I ended up going with Auld before his performance Friday night...he was excellent, and I really like his chances of getting big minutes in Dallas. Turco looks awful...and has looked awful for quite a while now. With Auld's contract year and a coach that has played him with confidence in the past (Vancouver) I think he could really perform well this season...even on a beleaguered Stars team.

Garon was brilliant in his first start...a 36 save shutout...which I saw coming but foolishly did not act on. Garon, who was pumped on this site for a major breakout last season, was mishandled and flopped in the lead gig up in Edmonton last season. He makes the perfect post-hype breakout candidate...he's in a backup role (where he has had his most success in the past), in an excellent defensive system, with a young goalie in front of him who could use a break from time to time (or re-injure that knee). I'm keen on Garon...and if I move Varlamov (who I'm quickly souring on) then I'll be usig him as my insurance for Mason the Younger.

My verdict is still out on Niemi...haven't seen to much of him, but Huet hasn't impressed me since he was on Montreal. I don't really see the full-time start pedigree in Niemi...yet.
