Hi guys,
I\'m currently the admin of a Keeper League in PoolExpert. It\'s the 3rd year I\'m using PoolExpert (2 first were 1yr pools, and now a brand new keeper league for this year) and I\'ve been really satisfied so far. Since the beginning of the season, PoolExpert has been struggling with statistics problems. Some Goals/Assists are missing for some players (according to their stats in NHL.com), and this morning I had a pleasent surprise. PoolExpert used the stats from friday games for a second time, instead of using the stats from yesterday\'s games. So my Kopitar has 6 games played, when in fact LA have just played 5 games. I know this is just the beginning of the season and they have to make some adjustments, but I want to know if there have been some problems for Yahoo. I might consider transfering my league over there if the problems continue to flow. Because our league uses Active/Reserve players, I wounder if it\'s gonna be really difficult to transfer to Yahoo... Looking for advices. Thanks.

Wow, that sucks to hear. Isn\'t Pool Expert the company running adds on this site?
I\'m not sure whether you can add your pool to Yahoo after the season starts, and make it retroactive. You may be able to for roto, but I know for sure you can\'t if its a H2H league. Yahoo isn\'t exactly perfect though. They make minor stat corrections all the time. |

yeah... they always fix the problems (PoolExpert), I just think they have a hard start this year.
I investigated Yahoo a little and as you said, might be difficult to start a league right now when the season as started.

This is what Pool Expert said to me:
Hey Dobber, All is looking good in regards to stats right now. Steve mentioned that you wanted to get back to these guys in the forum. Here are some good points for you to include - · Our stats provider is called Stats Inc. They are the same provider for Yahoo, ESPN and the NHL. Yahoo would be having issue as well. · 99% of The big providers use a stats provider and Stats inc is usually the best in the business Typically when a stat error occurs, Stats will send a correction file. This gets uploaded and the errors are corrected the next day. During the course of a year there are always minor corrections going on. The start of this year has been particularly rough but it appears to be all over now. Let me know if you need any more info.

Stats Inc. is exactly the reason why monopolies are bad for consumers. They make tons of mistakes with the NFL and mistakes that should never be made (like giving a player not even on the field a fumble). They need competition and without question I can say this: Stats Inc. SUCKS.

Hey Dobber,
thanks for the info, appreciated. You are right, everything seems to be back to normal now. There was one issue that was stressing us up. They have an option called Active/Reserve (like Bench on Yahoo). The things is that presently, when you take a Reserve player and put it Active, the player\'s stats are reseted to 0 in your rosters. This is annoying, but we can live with it. The problem we anticipated was that if for example Staal is missing a goal and is put into Reserve for some reason and while being Reserved, PoolExpert update the stats and Staal gets the missing goal, well when activated, because the stats are reseted, we feared that the goal would be still missing. They insured us that all the stats are applied by date, so the goal will be credited on the exact date where it has been scored. So there is no problem. Anyway, I just hope they put in an option to not reset the stats when a Reserve player gets Active soon, because it\'s hard to keep track of players value. In our league, infinite Reserve/Active switches are premitted, taking effect the next monday. And we have some Testosterone-Guys who want to trade every seconds (I\'m one of them), so there is a lot of action

Or you could use a crawler and get NHL stats yourself...you can even get hits, takeaways, blocked shots, etc.
