I've never had Tim Thomas as my #1 goalie before.
Was last year just a flash in the pan or is there more to come from him? I don't get to watch a lot of Bruins games, so any input would be greatly appreciated. thank you. team in sig.

Here what I know...Thomas is unorthodox as goalies go-kind of a Brodeur/Hasek clone relying on reflexes and scrambling to make saves. Having said that, his most endearing characteristic is his competative nature-never giving up on a play and his excellent physical conditioning which allows him to avoid injury.
I think his overall ability is better than he gets credit for, but certainly he benefits [as any goalie would] from playing on a team with solid D and a tight defensively-coached system. Having a crease-clearing body like Big Z. Chara doesn't hurt either. The situation in BOS hasn't changed and there's no reason to think Thomas won't bring his best game on a regular basis. With this in mind, he's no 'flash in the pan'. I'd expect very good numbers from him until Rask proves he's mentally ready to handle the starting workload...2-3 years from now.
