I traded Crosby and Tanguay today for Zetterberg and Stastny.
I thought I got maximum value for him. What do you all think?

ya zetterberg is playing well but its crosby...he can ignite at any point in time and consistently put multiple pt games...i would have kept sid..have you taken a look at his recent game log?? and tanguay isnt just a throw in guy... i take sid

i think you coulda gotten a lot more than that, you bought zetterberg and statsny really high, their mad streaks aren\'t going to last all year while crosby hasn\'t broken out yet.

crosby is projected to get atleast 120 points (sorry dobber don\'t have the pool guide)

tanguay always is at around the 80 point range

zetterberg i see him getting maybe 100 points, if he remains healthy all year, and he isn\'t one of the healthier guys in the league

statsny is great but i see him as a point per game player at most this year, he\'ll get more in the future but as a sophomore i think thats where he\'ll be at.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you...generally people don\'t brag about trading Sidney Crosby...and I think you will regret this [I\'m trying really hard to be gentle here].

Trading Crosby in almost any pool is like waving a white flag in surrender [as Crosby is single-handedly able in many formats to help your pool overcome all kinds of other deficiencies].

There are exceptions to the \"never trade Sidney\" rule, but they are rare...and this trade IMO does not qualify.

Let\'s be conservative...

Crosby = 120 pts
Tanguay = 85 pts
TOTAL = 205

Stastny = 90 pts [let\'s pretend he has a great season]
Zetterberg = 100 pts [let\'s pretend he doesn\'t get hurt]
TOTAL = 190

Optimistically...you lose this deal by 15 points.

Terrible trade for you. You should have not thrown in a LW in Tanguay. You could have got way more for him. Zetterberg is a great player but a band-aid. He will likely miss 5-10 games again this year. Last year I traded Crosby for Luongo & Semin in a league where goalies were gold.

An example of someone who doesn\'t listen to me. You are supposed to buy low and sell high, not vice versa. I just offered Stastny and Zetterberg for Crosby and Afinogenov.
Stastny will end up with 85 or 90.
Zetts with 90 or 95.
Crosby with 130 or 135.
Afino with 70-80 depending on health.
I\'m afraid you\'ll pay for that one, unless the Kid breaks his leg.

Wow Dobber. Looks like we have pretty similar projections.

I\'ve got Crosby at 130
Zetterberg at 82 in 70 which pro-rates to 96
Afinogenov at 75 in 73 which pro-rates to 84
Only one I really botched was Stastny at 73, but I think I did his projections mid summer and was being super weary of the sophmore slump.
