Are we to make anything of Varlamov getting more preseason starts than Theodore? Although Varlamov's numbers have not been shockingly good, he has posted three wins in three starts. Enough to get the start on opening night do you think?

So from earlier in the summer management goes from Theo as the undissputed #1 to platoon 30 games? As a Varlamov owner I think that's a huge positive. They haven't even played game #1 and will already platoon. Usually when a guy is a starter he gets at least 5 starts to b/u 1, so splitting is already great news.
I think Varlamov will be the #1 within 30 games, even 25. Whether they trade Theo or sit on him. Its obvious the "tune" is changing already in favor of Varly.

I am only holding on to Theodore in the vain hopes that he plays lights out to start the season and ups his trade value.

It looked like he would be given the reigns for at least the first 10 games or so, but now, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him play a game or two, then get switched out.
