I took Gustavsson in the 16th round of the Dobber Experts League draft last week (just before the heart surgery thingy happened!). I'm stoked to see if the Leafs will give him a chance to run with the ball right off the bat or split the starts. Whenever Ron Wilson talks about him it's almost always positive, which is a great sign.

I noticed a lot from watching some post-game comments by Ron Wilson. You could tell he was very, very excited about Gustavsson and that he was trying to hide his excitement. You could tell it in his voice and see it in his face. He mentioned how the media and fans can get so excited about this guy because of his presence in the net, but then he stumbled for a second and was open by saying, "but fans SHOULD be excited..."

I think it's very obvious that WHEN Gustavsson gets his opportunity to take over when Toskala loses two or three straight, he will take advantage and the Leafs may never look back.

It's smart to stay grounded with this guy ... it was only one save and one pre-season game ... but like I said earlier it doesn't matter if it's one save or one hundred, it's so obvious this guy is a long-term keeper!
