Neuv should be a good one, but I can't see how they leap frog Varly to go to him. Yes, he could outshine and steal it, but too many things going for Varly. I would think he'll be splitting early and by Xmas, have the job outright.

Which playoffs? The NHL playoffs which Varly lost due to a couple of bad games, or the AHL playoffs, in which Neuvirth carried his team to victory with stunning play?

Honestly, Neuvirth may be more talented. He is not as high on the totem pole, but he is great.

If it weren't for Nuevirth, the Manitoba Moose would have been AHL champions last season. If it weren't for Varlamov, the Washington Capitals MAY have been Stanley Cup Champions last season.

Nuevirth may be playing in the AHL, but the key here is that he is the starter. Varlamov will play, but half time(at best). Also, in my mind, Varlamov's mechanics are extremely flawed, while Nuevirth looks smooth as glass.

I wouldn't blame Varlamov for the Caps getting kicked out of the playoffs. Without him they wouldnt have got out of the 1st round.
