I\'m looking at trying to trade Havlat for Backstrom [the other party is thinking this over].
Havlat is a borderline keeper for me anyway at the end of the year and I\'m tired of his injuries. I have Ovechkin which makes Backstrom more appealing even if I lose the deal this year. Am I getting enough in return? Does anyone think Havlat will notch more than 65pts this year? He initially offered Hartnell for Havlat [I laughed at him...and then nicely explained why I thought that was silly].

If you can get Backstrom for Havlat, I suggest you take it and run, and don\'t look back lest he change his mind.

Go for it. Havlat is the band-aid boys of all band-aid boys. Bacsktrom stands a solid chance of doing 45-60 points this year depending on where he is playing.
We don\'t even know whether Havlat will come back, and if so, how long he\'l be around. Backstrom all the way.

Just FYI the other offer we discussed was...
I give: M. Havlat 3rd round pick I get: B. Boyes 2nd round pick I\'m not sure I get enough in return, but Havlat\'s perpetual bandaid boy status makes me think getting anything would be an improvement.

How many keepers do you get? How many surefire keepers do you have on your team?
This year Havlat is certainly better than Backstrom. I haven\'t seen him do anything yet, and he\'s being dropped in many leagues. It\'s a gamble to take him and keep him for the future. I\'d stick with Havlat myself.

FYI we keep 10 players each year [no limitations on positions kept]. My keepers right now would be...
1 goalie [2pts win, 1pt OTL, -1pt loss, 2pts SO] Nabokov [or Backstrom (Min)] Probably 3 Defense [2pts goal, 1pt assist] R. Whitney and 2 of the following [M. Carle, B. Campbell, E. Johnson] 6 Forwards [no positional requirements...1pt goal/assist] A. Ovechkin I. Kovalchuk E. Staal [three of B. Richards, A. Kopitar, M. Gaborik, A. Radulov, A. Hemsky, or M. Havlat]

i would walk away from the boyes offer. Geting backstrom would have been sweet, i dont really see a point though in getting boyes in this trade.

As bad as the Boyes offer sounds, i would take it.
One of these days Havlat is going to get hurt to the point of retirement, could be this year or could be next, but IMO the way he\'s going its not far off. At least Boyes seems to have found a home in StL, is producing and is still young. Heck you get a 2nd round pick out of it (see if you can get yoru pick taken out altogether and keep his in) if he insists on a pick, then try to go later round if possible. If Havlat never gets hurt again, at least you don\'t have to worry about that possibility again, let someone else stress over it. I would rather be proven wrong and have hm on someone elses team than be proven right and have him on mine

The only reason I mentioned the Boyes offer is \'cause I expect a similar point total from the two of them this year. I upgrade a pick for next season and was likely not holding onto Havlat anyway.
