Default Ryan Miller - where are the shut-outs?

I have been an owner of Ryan Miller for the last 2 years. Everyone talks about how great he is. I saw some pre-season predictions he would win the Vezina. However he doesn’t seem to get shut-outs. In his career of 124 games he only has 3 shutouts. Is this just a fluke or is there something about his play that will keep him from being a shutout goalie over his career? My pool rewards shutouts fairly highly so Miller is only ranked 15th amongst goalies and I want to know if making an upgrade should be one of my off-season projects. If I could just see 5 shut-outs out of him a year he would be ranked in the top 5. . . is that realistic?

I also have Miller in my pool. I think there were 2 or 3 games this year where he missed out on the shutout due to final minute garbage goals. I would keep him, have faith he is still pretty young.

He is a great goalie playing on a team that is clearly offense first. Like Lotto says, he\'s young, give him time.

Yeah I had miller last year in my keeper league, but I could only keep two goalies so I let him go and I kept kiprusoff and luongo (since my league counts shutouts). Miller frustrated me all last season with his high save percentage and low shutout total.

I\'ve noticed he\'s been the same this year, and a guy offered him to me for fleury. I said no of course (because we get 4 points for every shutout) and fleury is looking much better for me for the future.

I do agree that his shutouts will come with consistancy, but I don\'t know that he\'ll ever put up huge shutout numbers in Buffalo (as like a previous poster mentioned, they are a scoring team rather than a defensive team).
