Is Quick the incumbent starter come training camp?
Will Bernier get a legit shot at making the big team? Or another year in the A?

I\'d say that Quick has the inside track going into training camp. If I remember correctly, he put up decent numbers the last month or so. Ersberg, until he got injured, did an adequate job as well.
I would think that LA gives Bernier every opportunity to land at least the backup role in LA as in its his to lose. I would lean towards Quick as the starter which means Ersberg is likely the odd man out. Whomever gets the starting role in LA should post pretty good numbers. LA has a pretty solid, young defensive corp and if they land Pronger, they become that much better. |

I think Justin (goalie guild) addressed this recently. I believe the theory is that Quick and Ersberg have 1 more year before Bernier makes the leap.
I am not sure of the value of having Bernier sit on the bench for 50 games rather than playing every day in the minors. With his skills and the anticipation of his arrival it looks like an all (starter) or nothing (minors) situation. This will most likely be decided in training camp. (I would ask Justin before I traded (for) Bernier)

My angle is, I own Quick in my minor leagues. My active roster starters are Luongo and DiPietro, with Rinne, Quick, Harding, Pavelec in minors. The 4 minors guys can be brought up and down as many times as I want. So I\'ll be starting Luongo and Rinne mainly, and hoping DiPietro does something, anything, either for my team\'s benefit or so I can trade him for something of value. Quick helped me alot last year when Luongo went down for two months, and I like the LA defense in front of him, since they give up the least amount of shots per game in the league. I\'ve had a few GM\'s ask about Quick, just not sure if I should trade him at this point, or maybe wait til during the season when his value may be higher. Just don\'t want to sit on him too long with Bernier looming.

Great goaltending depth AFlyers. I think Quick will be the starter in LA. Personally I am not big on Bernier. I like the situation for Harding and Hiller. Harding is likely to get traded, and become the starter for his new team, while Hiller will at least share starts in Anaheim.
