Default Carle, Koivu and Huselius...

I\'m in a points only keeper league and need some help shoring up my LW. I think I am close to competing this year, I have been offered...

Drury, Bieksa and Tanguay
for
Saku Koivu, Carle and Huselius

I see this as an upgrade for me at LW and a slight downgrade at D with the centres pretty much even. My current LW are Huselius, Nagy and Stillman so I can use the upgrade (must start 2 of the 3). My D are Markov, MA Bergeron, Carle and Cory Murphy (must start 3 of the 4)

I\'m nervous how Huselius will perform under Iron Mike, and Tanguay seems to be money in the bank - is the upgrade at LW worth the downgrade on D? Is the situation at C a wash or do I have it wrong?

Just looking for some feedback

Since this is a keeper league you will have the advantage at C as well... Drury should be centering Jagr and Straka which should be huge. Koivu on the other hand doesn\'t have the supporting cast around him. I like Tanguay over Huselius and I think Carle to Bieksa isn\'t that far of a drop if Bieksa can duplicate his output from last year. Great trade for you in my eyes!

I should add that Koivu currently sits on my bench as would Drury - I see Drury having more value in the playoff pool we keep our players for after the season but my primary focus is being in the money for the regular season.

I think I would rather deal Carle over Markov... He will be the main man on the PP now that Souray is gone

Interesting deal this guy is offering - trying to figure out why he would do this - seems like the upgrade at D might be the motivator but I think he is overpaying - he might have a crush on Huselius I suppose. I think I would do this.

I think folks should not underestimate who Koivu has playing around him - there is a team on the rise - albeit still looking broken - there will be some good things happen for them this year.

I think you can give him whatever D guy of those 2 you want - I am a Markov fan but I like Carle\'s future as well.

yeah, i think i would do this deal as well.

i have my doubts as to how huselius is going to perform with keenan in calgary as well. i can see him reverting back to his under-achieving ways when he was in florida.

as far as your feelings between markov and carle, i would rather deal carle than markov, personally. i think markov is underrated and was living in the shadow of souray\'s booming point shot. i think he\'ll still get his points this year even with souray gone. and honestly, between bieksa and carle, i don\'t see too big of a difference, at least this year. but i don\'t think you\'d be hurting your chances too severely in the future by dealing carle.

i say giver balls bill.

Take that deal in a heartbeat.

Drury will be a gem on a newly, and powerfully, revamped Rangers team (wherever he goes, the team wins), and Tanguay\'s superb consistency should be valued higher than a (often-infuriating) talented potential star. Even IF Huselius is the real deal finally arrived, despite his inconsistancy in the past, he\'ll have to deal with a Keenan who is infamous for defence-first ideals. For those who don\'t recall, Huselius went from the first line to the bench to the trading block very quickly during his days in florida. Keenan and Huselius have some iffy history which is likely to resurface.

And Bieksa is a defensive Gem. The only reason Carle MAY be more valueable is that insane first like PP of the sharks. (Which, I think, will be the best in the league). Bieksa will get you similar numbers, with an added bonus of about 100 extra penalty minutes.

Make the deal.

I can\'t see no reason why you wouldn\'t make the deal. Yeah you lost a bit on the D side, but you win the other two. I would make it for sure.
