Default Marian Gaborik

Gaborik has been teasing fantasy GM\'s with his streaky play over the past few seasons. His inability to stay healthy has been equally as maddening, but this looks to be the season for all that to change.

The Wild were an astounding 19-2-2 in games where Gaborik recorded at least one goal last season. That prorates to a completely unrealistic 140 point season! Gaborik terrorized opposing defenses when healthy, and is the most explosive player in the Western Conference. He has 50-60 goal upside, but has yet to play enough games to get on a consistent roll. His training has been altered this off-season, instead of returning home to Slovakia for all of summer he stayed behind in Minnesota so the Wild management could monitor his workout routine to avoid another groin injury.

Gaborik is going to be a risk no matter where you take him in your draft. He should break 100 points this season, and I fully expect him to do so. You may not agree, but even if you conservatively predict 70-80 points, keep an eye on him. Because of injuries and playing for the Wild, he has still flown as far under the radar as a legitimate superstar can.

Pick Gaborik, watch the goals pile on, and thank me later.

The nice thing about gabby is that even though he\'s \"injury prone,\" it\'s all one injury. If he can get his groin sorted out, I think he\'ll be straight...

I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen him have any other injury problem before. Whereas guys like havlat and spezza seem to have something different every three months...

Can that guy be hot or what? I remember last year when he came back he was on fire. That guy is really appealing but it\'s so hard to balance his upside vs. the injury risk.

Do you think he\'ll still be available between the 50-60th pick of a e year fantasy league? (straight points only)

his points per game potential will always put him in the first 3 rounds of any draft. Getting him as a 50th-60th pick would be quite the steal... especially if he has a relatively injury free year.

I just can\'t imagine him going that late. I would consider it a coupe to grab him around #30 in most set-ups let alone a points only league.

Gaborik is a monster. I drafted him in the 4th round last year. Yes thats right 4th round and even then some people (uneducated ones) laughed at me drafting him then because he has a history of injuries.

If Gaborik has a mostly healthy season and I say mostly because I don\'t believe he will ever go a full season with out injury. He will easily put up 100 points.
