It\'s a keeper league that keeps track of all stats, 20 players dressed(12f, 6d, 2g) and 20 players reserved...my goalies are Lehtonen, Fleury, Emery, Rask, and Schneider..my forwards are a little thin so I wonder if I should go for this deal.....would you?????

Hell yeah! This is one of those calls that folks will suggest is too risky etc, I like the odds of this paying big for you. I am convinced Hitch will help/coerce Zherdev to find his game and Little could be big and fast playing with Kovalchuk. You can afford Emery I think.

I think I would offer Lehtonen not emery. I dont know if that is enough for emery. Little hasn\'t proven anything yet and Zherdev hasn\'t even come close to what his potential was suppose to be. I would not do this trade. I would have to think about it even if it was for Lehtonen. If you need a forward than Emery is no question worth a porven 80 to 90 point player in most keeper leagues.

Hello flamesfan \'et al\'
I can see the points made by Shoeless and Number 1. I like Zherdev but am concerned that he will get it together. Reports on Little suggest that Sterling has had a better camp and it isn\'t a certainty that Little will make the team. I am more inclined to go with the opinion of Number 1. Emery is worth an 80 point guy at least. You indicate that you are in need of forwards. That suggests to me that you need the help now. That being the case, I would not do this deal. I don\'t think I would do it for Lehtonen either. I don\'t know if this appeals to you or if your trading partner would consider it but you might consider discussing goalie prospect for forward prospects. You know that Rask and Schneider are going to be starters. You can probably assume the same of Zherdev and Little. It might be something that you could work with. My thoughts. |

I can see that - as I said in my first response. I happen to be one of those that truly believes that Emery is at risk to stay as the Sens #1 for long. and look at your goalie depth.

i tend to agree with shoeless here. i think Hitch is going to give zherdev the spark he needs and it\'s only a matter of time for little. whats the point in having a ton of goalies if you can\'t dress them all. especially if ur hurting at forward, emery isnt going to get you any points if he\'s not playing and with you having lehtonen little would give you a team tandem. let\'s just say for instance little makes the team, centres kovy and they gel then start scoring up a storm like kovy can. what if nash and zherdev hit it off and then zherdev becomes the player the coaching staff want him and are giving him the chance to be. are you gonna enjoy watching emery sit on the pine because your other goalies are just as good or he\'s hurt or gerber steals his job back and emery is dealt to phoenix? wud be a tuff spot to be in knowing yoyu couldve gotten to great forwards for years to come for a fairly cheap price. emery hasn\'t proved shat yet either. just that he can play goal behind a wicked core of players in front of him. the guy has no rebound control and that will get you a ticket on the bench a lot faster than a bad attitude. for me i would\'ve already done the deal. go big or go home but that\'s just my opinion.

I agree that you can let Emery go but not for this. I would get a more solidified scorer. I also have my question marks regarding Emery but he is still the #1 starter for an amazing team that is always in contention for the stanley cup. Also, I know this doesn\'t mean much but they DID sign Emery to that 3 yr contract so I would at least think for this season that he is a safe bet.

yup and those are very valid points. also consider that you have a spare in case of injury, a very good one with whoever you aren\'t playing. this kind of thinking for me is some of the riskiest that there is in the risk/reward struggle. if you deal your safety net, your guys don\'t get hurt and the players you get back score points you look and feel like a genius but and it\'s one dam huge but, you lose that net and things go bad, now your down to 1 goalie and you go two pine riders on the bottom of your list not doing anything that you can\'t even flog off to someone else for near what you paid. risk/reward. i think this deal comes down really to what type of gambler u are. are you the all in type or the conservative, i\'ll just bet what i can afford. tuff call either way, glad it\'s you and not me lol. gl with it i hope it works out well for you.

thanks for your help here...this has been a really tough trade for me...at first I thought it looked awesome, but then I had second thoughts....it\'s been hard because the other offers for him have been so poor that I almost jumped at this because it was the best of the lot...hmm.....still thinking!!!1
