few things:

Modano and Legace are on my bench and would sit there for the rest of the season. The \'07 picks have lost value because most of the stellar prospects were taken in the end of the player draft...it drops them to being a 6-8 on a normal draft year. The 1st rounder hurts a bit, but from what I\'ve heard it\'s a shallow draft with Tavares at the top and, me being a contender, it\'s not likely I\'ll have a shot at him.

Tell me what you guys think, any input is greatly appreciated :lol:

I wouldn\'t give Datsyuk for this. Basically you\'re losing a star center for Preissing, an aging Modano, and an injury-prone Legace. There\'s a lot of picks there, but I doubt he\'s going to have the roster room to keep all of those. As you said, the picks are almost worthless for this year, and the only thing he has is a hope that the 2009 draft gives him a good prospect.

I feel sorry for the Commissioner that \'tries\' to keep track of the future picks, 2008 and 2009. What a headache. I appreciate my comments are \'off topic\'.

You suggest that you have a good team and that you will not have a low draft pick in the next 2 years and thus you made the deal. You are obviously very comfortable with the deal.

From your perspective: bird in hand (Datsyuk)is better than a bird in the bush (all that other stuff).
