Default Schubert

Schubert is listed as a D-man, but played forward half the season last year in Ottawa. If a GM in a keeper league drafts him as a d-man, but he plays forward most of the year, how should we calculate his pool points? (as our pool values forwards and d-men differently)

Good question. I feel that you have to clearly list who\'s eligible for what positions. Fedorov, while he did play a number of games on defence last year, HAS to be considered a forward (centre) this year. He\'s not going to play defence very often this year and if he does, he will have a very large attitude and won\'t be draft worthy anyway. I mean where do you draw the line? Does playing point on the PP mean you\'re now a defenceman?

Conversly, Brent Burns is a defenceman, as is Schubert. Hockey isn\'t like baseball where you can track the number of games played by position. That\'s why using RW, LW, C sucks. Go with F or D. Most of the forwards have played centre most of their lives - that\'s where 80% (just a guess) of the players have played during their midget and junior careers. Most coaches put their best players at centre.

You need to identify the potential players who may have multiple position questions and let everyone know what position they are going to be considered for the upcoming season. You can\'t leave that until draft day, it will just cause too much confusion.
