I\'m in a 15 team keeper league(2nd year) we protect 7 skaters(straight
points) and start 11 forward and 4 defence... I\'m having a hard time choosing between Bouwmeester and Niedermayer. I\'m posative that Nieds plays out his contract and plays in the Olympics when they come to Vancouver My Top 6... Jason Spezza Olli Jokinen Eric Staal Scott Gomez Simon Gagne Michael Nylander and 1 of the following... Jay Bouwmeester (my pick) Scott Niedermayer (having a very hard time trading even for\'08 picks) Not Protecting... Tuumo Ruutu Nikolai Zherdev Viktor Kozlov Chris Higgins Mike Comrie Paul Mara Bryan Berard Keith Ballard Eric Lindros Jozef Stumpel |

This shouldnt even be a question, easily the answer is Jay-Bo, Nieds has max 1-2 years left and thats if he doesnt retire, where as Jay-Bo has about 10-15 years left.
Even if Nieds was to not retire, he\'d get max 10 more pts then Jay-Bo this year, is 10 pts really worth giving up 10 more years of jay-Bo and 40+ pts a year.

100% agree Keep Bouwmeester, no doubt. I think Bouwmeester can match or surpass Niedermayer (if he plays) stats this year because you know wHat happen when you miss training camp > INJURY

Bouwmeester will not beat Nieds in points, even if Nieds only plays 70 games. Given the circumstances in your pool I would also take J Bo

Tough question but you have to ask yourself a few things.
1)Who will help me the most in years to come? 2)Who will put up the most points this year? 3)Do I want to win this year? 4)Do I want to compete this year and have a better team for years to come? 5)Do you really believe Niedermayer will come back this year? So basically if you believe Nied\'s will be back this year and your more interested in taking it all this year go with Nied\'s. But if you even think for a second Nied\'s will retire go with Jay. In my opinion I would go with Nieds because I believe he\'ll be back this year and then I would try to trade him once hes back and plays a few games. That being said who really knows what he\'s going to do. So the safest move would to stick with Jay.

Bouwmeester, no question about it. He\'s only in his early 20\'s and can only get better. Niedermayer won\'t be back for long, even if he is back this year.
