Glad to hear you take things in stride Shoeless. One guy in my league got his panties in a knot when I sent him some comments about two of his guys that were posted on the internet. The comments were not even that bad. I think we are all hockey fanatics here, and diferent opinions are what makes playing fantasy hockey fun.

Just for your info though... since the lockout he has played two seasons

2005-06 Vancouver NHL 13 games .892%
2006-07 Los Angeles NHL 24 games .860%

Nothing to write home about either time. Dobber has him listed behind Halak as well

eh - if clueless is the worst thing I am called on this site - I\'m laughing. Good on you for playing with the words. I agree wholeheartly that we are fanatics and stuff is going to get said that we might not say another time - I can\'t control what you say, so why would I even try and by the same token I can certainly control how I receive things - seems to me forum rage isn\'t going to do much for me. I also agree that our differences of opinion are a major component in what makes this forum valuable. If we all thought the same we could just take turns sending out the weekly email.

I am aware of Clout\'s numbers - and certainly Halak\'s rating by Dobber - when I responded I really took the approach that Brian was looking for a stop-gap not so much keeper potential.

Anyway let the debate rage on - I have said way more than enough on this subject.

Nice debate...

Shoeless you are right on with my dilemma..

I am in a keeper league where you have 3 active goalies...

My first two are Turco and Giguere...

I need a third goalie...

In our pool we have a draft where we bid on \"free agents\" - players that nobody currently holds the rights to...

Salary cap = $25; Minimum Salary = 25 cents

I have 7 positions to fill and only a $2.35 maximum bid to do it with...

Goalies I don\'t even have a shot at and will probably be bid up over $2.50:

Niklas Backstrom
Tomas Vokoun
Olaf Kolzig

These goalies will go for between 70 cents and $1.50:
Josh Harding
Jaroslav Halak

The rest I could probably pick up for 25 - 50 cents:

I am in the pool with my dad and when I brought up the suggestion he thought I was off my rocker...

But unless I can make a trade, I am looking at getting Harding for $1.50, Halak for say a buck, or Cloutier for 25 cents...

When you say 3 active goalies do you simply mean guys who are in the league? Do you need to fill your full complement of players or can you go short - if you can go short - is that advisable? What happens to your coin if you throw a fish back in the tank? How much do you need your 3rd goalie to perform?

Default Re:Halak or Cloutier?

3 active goalies meaning all stats count - Minutes played, Wins, and GGA.

I have to have all three slots filled...if I get say Bernier from LA and he doesn\'t play this season, then I will be short when it comes to Minutes played and Wins....
If I get Cloutier and he bites the big one...it will affect my GGA.
I can probably get by with a back-up goalie like Halak and depend on Turco and Giguere...but I would still need to outbid others for that backup...and I can only guess what Halak or Harding would go for...probably for what I stated above...

Also, I have the option of dropping a goalie in order to pick up another \"free agent\" at midseason...So if Cloutier does really bite...I can drop him at that point...

Let\'s diverge for a second - I didn\'t hear names like Osgood, Niiti, Rinne, mentioned, Did you give us a fairly complete list?

Just wanted to also restress a question that I might not have asked correctly - you said you have 7 roster positions you need to fill and with a minimum bid of .25 cents and 2.35 to spend how key is it to fill out your roster?
