I have RW Clowe @ 3.50 (min salary). Do you think he\'s worth protecting? What do you think his overall potential is??? I\'m not sold on him yet. We have to protect min. of 12 players max 14. I have 12 guaranteed, just wondering your thoughts....

So what effect does protecting more than 12 players have on your draft position? Does your first pick get delayed a round?

Well our pool is a little bit different.... We do an entry draft only for Jr. &amp; College Players that were drafted this year. Those players go on a development roster that don\'t count towards our salary cap.

We have $100 cap, need to sign 20 players. You can protect up to 14 of your roster from the previous year at their old salary + 10%. So say you protect 14 guys at $70, you have $30 left for an auction of free agents to fill 6 spots. Each team will bid on players and the highest bid wins.

For an example - Highest paid player in our league right now is Martin Brodeur $20.70 for 2007/2008. That team can protect him or let him go back in the auction to be bid on.

It\'s an interesting league, a little bit different from what I\'ve seen in the past. I just entered in in an expansion draft last year.
