Default Picking prospects

I\'m starting a keeper league this year based on points only...

In which rounds do you think these prospects should be picked?? 22 rounds total. I can protect 8 players at the end of the year plus 2 more if they played less than 25 games... This is where i\'m hoping to snag them... any thoughts?

Toews---8th round
Backstrom--- 5th round
Kane---13th round
Schremp---not picking him this year
Mueller---22nd
Grigorenko--- not picking him...
Nilsson---not picking him...
Cherepanov---not picking him...
Esposito---not picking him (band-aid boy alert i think)
O\'Sullivan---not picking...
Brassard---20th

Depends a lot on how many other teams are involved. I think you are VERY optimistic to get Mueller in the 22nd round after projecting Backstrom in the 5th and Toews in the 8th. But then again if there are only 3 other teams involved, you may have a chance.

I\'d bump Mueller way up and personally think O\'Sullivan is going to be better than you realize. Remember Dobber\'s column on grabbing LA and Chicago guys now?

Default Re:Picking prospects

are you building for future dynasty or trying to be competitive now?

Either way i would go after Backstrom, Toews and Kane for sure, maybe pick a little earlier 1 or 2 rounds earlier then what you have. Backstrom will be centering Ovechkin in the future so you know he will light it up. Toews and Kane have already shown chemistry so why not lock onto both of them now

Toews---8th round
Backstrom--- 5th round
Kane---13th round
Schremp---not picking him this year
Mueller---22nd
Grigorenko--- not picking him...
Nilsson---not picking him...
Cherepanov---not picking him...
Esposito---not picking him (band-aid boy alert i think)
O\'Sullivan---not picking...
Brassard---20th

Heres the thing, if you are only allowed to protect 8 players/year, taking that many prospects in this draft is silly. I would grab Toews/Backstrom/Mueller, and make them 3 of your 8. The other 5 should be stud forwards/D.

What pick is yours? is it a snake draft, who could you get in the first round?

Forgot to mention that I can put 4 players on my \"farm team\" if they\'re under 22... I\'m picking 4th out of 12 and yes, it is a snake draft...
I was hoping to grab Thorton or Malkin with my 4th... Crosby and Ovechkin will go 1-2 and the third is a huge flames fan and will get Iggy im sure...
