Some info about the league...
It\'s a 30 team dynasty league, with a salary cap, where goals count twice as much as assists, and our playoffs coincide with the NHL playoffs so a player like Rick Nash - although great in the regular season will help you win nothing cause he won\'t be able to play in the playoffs. So I have 2 trades for similar costs in which one lands me Weiss, and the other Hudler. My team is probably middle of the pack but I tried drafting players that are on playoff teams so come then, I have enough to fill a squad by rounds 2 or 3. I know Weiss is more developed than Hudler and virtually has the 2nd C spot to himself. His points this year will probably be higher than Hudlers but I think Hudler may help me for the next two years in the playoffs... Questions are: - do you think Florida has a strong chance of taking one of the late playoff seeds in the East? What about next year or the year? - when Detroit makes the playoffs, will Hudler play a role or will he be a bench player cause of his \"small size\"? - Who do you think is the better player? - What are the upsides of both players? - most importantly, what would you do?? Thanks for the feedback!

I do think Fla will challenge for that last spot this year.
As far as Weiss goes, I would keep an eye on his contract situation as though talks have started again, apparently they are far apart. Even though he has the #2 center spot vitually locked, he doesn\'t have that much offensive help on the wings. I see him as a 65-75 point guy. Hudler even though small in stature, that is becoming less and less of a factor.... Cammy/ Gionta etc.. Hudler certainly showed what he is capable of when he did get the chance to play last year, and with Detroit needing some new blood in the line-up, Hudler should get a lot more ice time this year, and I can see him being a break-out guy getting 55 points this year. He has the potential to be a 80-90 point guy, but he needs to do something this year. I would take a chance on Hudler |

I think you should take the chance on hudler. Both have similar upsides, but I\'d take a detroit player over a player from almost any other team (when concerning potential) because if/when they do break out, they\'ll get huge points because of the system they play there.
I think that hudler can be detroit\'s next datsyuk (80+ points yearly) once he gets going. If you can afford to take the chance do it. If you want to play it a bit safer, go with weiss.
