12 team keeper league, keep 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 4D, 2G.
Ive been offered a trade for Niedermayer. I give: Niedermayer and D.Brown + conditional pick I get: Hemsky + conditional pick In addition we would have conditional draft pick. If he retires before the draft, I would give him a 10th round pick (nothing that big). If he doesnt retire, I would get like a 5th round pick which is okay. If nothing is announced before the draft, he gets like a 12th round pick. The worse thing that could happen is that he doesn\'t annouce anything before our draft and he still plays. I would essentially get Hemsky for Niedermayer/Brown/10th round pick. Brown isn\'t much of a loss as I wouldn\'t even be keeping him. Hemsky would take the place of Naslund probably as a keeper. Are the odds leaning toward his retirement?

I think the odds are very strong that Neids will not play this year. Why is he even considering retiring if he doesn\'t want to do it? Even if he does decide to play, I struggle to see how his heart would be in the game the same way. Look at the Ducks D signings this summer - hello! if Burke isn\'t preparing for that vacant slot then not sure what he is up to.

Hello Joos and shoeless:
Let\'s forget about the conditional picks. Let\'s consider we are talking Niedermayer and D. Brown for Ales Hemsky. Niedermayer will retire, in my opinion. (On a scale of 10, I give this 9). We are now talking D. Brown for Ales Hemsky. I take Hemsky. Brown will have better support and will probably play first line for L.A. but Hemsky has a higher upside. My thoughts. |

have to agree with hkylifer. Niedermayer is as good as retired. I just don\'t understand why he just won\'t say it already. Hemsky will out produce D.Brown. So there is your solution.

This is a great deal. Lets look at worst case that Nieds stays for 1 more year maybe 2. You still get the young talent in Hemsky that can only get better with additional personnel in Edmonton. And we have seen the offer sheets that have been coming down from them.
